Van Buren--- Adeline Z. Gagnon Madore, 92, died peacefully Thursday, October 13, 2016 at a Van Buren healthcare facility. She was born January 13, 1924 in Golden, BC, Canada, a daughter of the late Hilaire and Helene (Mercier) Soucy.
She worked many years as a cashier with Miller's and as an office clerk with Caribou District Health Offices. Adeline was a parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella and Columbiettes. She was also a long-time member, past President and Treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #49, and a former member and Officer of the Lioness Club.
She is survived by: two sons, Mark Gagnon and his wife Toni of Barre, VT and Daniel Gagnon of Bangor; a son-in-law, Phil Lavoie of Exeter, NH; one sister, Mary Violette of Van Buren; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Adeline is predeceased by her first husband Ivan Gagnon in 1981, her second husband John Madore in 2014, a daughter Cynthia Lavoie in 2015, and two brothers
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, October 17, 2016 at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Sunday evening 6-8:00 PM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be in New Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou.
