Fort Kent--- Adolph "June" Gagnon, Jr., 94, passed away August 8, 2024, following a short illness. He was born April 7, 1930, in Wallagrass, a son of the late Adolph and Leidy (Deprey) Gagnon, Sr.
June worked at the Maine State Liquor stores for almost 30 years before his retirement. Afterwards, he went on to work with Meals on Wheels for many years, where he loved chatting with the many seniors he visited. June was a former member of the Maine National Guard and a longtime 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Fort Kent. He adored his wife and loved spending every waking moment with his wife and family.
He is survived by his daughter Ann McKee of Fort Kent; two grandchildren, Danielle Delong of Fort Kent and Nicholas Delong of Newport; three great grandchildren, Jaiden, Bailey and Milani; one sister, Hernelle Pelletier and her husband Don of Fort Kent; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, June was predeceased by his beloved wife, Edna (Voisine) Gagnon in 2019, four brothers, Donald, Reynold, Arthur and Stanley Gagnon, and four sisters, Jean Smart, Esther Bowman, Barbara Castlebury, and Hilda Prest.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, August 19, 2024, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday morning 8:30 – 9:30 AM at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
