Obituary

Van Buren---Adrian T. Cyr, 88, passed away peacefully on February 29, 2016 at a Caribou health care facility.  Adrian was born in Hamlin on December 21, 1927, son of the late Remi L. and Alma (Ringuette) Cyr.  He proudly served in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 49 of Van Buren.  He was also a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1635, and a member of the Van Buren Fire Department.  He was a hardworking man, spending most of his working years at Simplex Manufacturing and Caribou Nursing Home.  He is survived by his loving wife of sixty one years, Claudette (Labbe) Cyr of Van Buren; five children, Kurt Cyr and his companion Millie of Van Buren, Kevin Cyr and his wife Lisa of New Gloucester, Kim Hanusovsky and her husband John of Bristol, CT; Kellie Ouellette and her husband Rick, Karen Cyr and her husband Paul all of Presque Isle; seven grandchildren; nine siblings; many nieces and nephews.  Adrian was predeceased by his infant son, Glenn Cyr; a grandson, Mitch Cyr; a brother, Chanel Cyr.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11am on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the St. Bruno/St. Remi Church.  Family and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 10am until 10:45am on Friday before the service.  Donations in Adrian's memory may be made to the Mitch Cyr scholarship Fund, C/O NMCC, 33 Edgemont Dr., Presque Isle, ME 04769.
