Obituary

Hamlin--- Alban Roy, 92, died peacefully Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. He was born September 9, 1927 in Hamlin, a son of the late Edmund and Cecile (Morin) Roy.

He worked 35 years as a plumber for the former Loring Air Force Base, until his retirement in 1986. Earlier, he raised cattle and planted potatoes on the family farm. Alban was a life-long parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Hamlin, where he also donated the land to the parish to erect St. Joseph Cemetery. He was a 3 rd Degree and life member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 1635, Van Buren. Alban was a dedicated hard worker but enjoyed finding the time to ride his horses.

He is survived by; his loving wife of almost 70 years, Noelie (Pelletier) Roy of Van Buren; three daughters, Priscilla Jones and her husband Jay of Litchfield, Diane Michaud and her husband Richard of Van Buren,  and Anne Maire Miller and her husband Gary of Sharon, PA; two brothers, Herbert Roy of Connecticut and Lorne Roy of Oregon; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and several nices and nephews.

Besides his parents, Alban was predeceased by a sister, Joan Rathmel, and four brothers, Vinal, Gilbert, Claude, and Herman Roy.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated privately at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hamlin. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Arrangements were a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
