MADAWASKSA - Albert R. Ouellet, 77, died March 21, 2010 at High View Manor after a courageous battle with lung cancer and dementia. He was born May 23, 1932, in St. Joseph, NB, Canada, to Irene Morneault and Magloire Ouellet. Albert, a mason, as was his father before him, brought his trade with him when he emigrated from Canada to Maine in the 1950's at a time when a man's word was his bond. Albert put these convictions into practice and developed his highly successful general contracting business, Ouellet Construction. Aside from his passion for his work, he developed a passion for flying, quickly mastering this as well. He also enjoyed golfing, playing cards and sharing his dry sense of humor with family and friends. He especially cherished dancing with his devoted wife, Agathe. He adored his family and he was dearly loved in return. In addition to his parents, Albert was predeceased by his daughter, Francine, and brothers, Jean-Dominique and Jean. He is survived by his loving wife, Agathe, of 57 years and seven children; Carmel and wife Diane of Rockport ME, daughters, Allison, Carolyn, Christine. Carmela of Franklin, TN, daughters Natalie, Meridith, and son Justin. Michel of Brunswick ME, daughters Jenny, Denise and son Luke. Charlene of Brunswick, ME, son Chad, daughter Nicole. Richard of Biddeford, ME, sons Preston and Nathan. Donald and wife Trixie of Topsham, ME, daughter, Vanessa, sons Kyle and Dominic. Dean and wife Erica with dog Buddy. Albert is also survived by his brother Origne and sisters Olia, Pierrette, Noella, Solange, Lisette, Violette, Jeanne-Mance. Viewing hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday March 24, 2010 and 9AM Thursday at Lajoie Funeral Home at 114, 10th Avenue, Madawaska, ME. Funeral services will be Thursday March 25, 2010, 10 AM at Saint David Church.
