Martin
June 18, 1939 – May 21, 2025
St. David--- Aldeo L. Martin, 85, went home to be with the Lord with the peaceful embrace of his beloved late wife, Therese, during the evening hours of May 21, 2025. He was born on June 18, 1939 in St. Basile, New Brunswick, Canada, the first of many children to the late Lionel and Genea (Therrien) Martin.
Aldeo worked various construction jobs in and around northern Maine until he was hired by Fraser Papers Inc. (now Twin Rivers Paper) and worked a year in the Beater Room in the Bond mill. He decided he wanted to work in the Maintenance Department, where he proceeded to work his way up to 1st call Millwright. He dedicated well over 30+ years until his well-deserved retirement. Following retirement, Aldeo kept himself busy with working carpentry/building maintenance jobs while still finding himself busy with the Madawaska Snowmobile Club. He was also longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed working with the guys in the kitchen prepping food for their monthly suppers.
He is survived by two sons, Mario and wife Christine of The Villages, FL, and Keith and wife Lori of St. David, ME; six grandchildren, Samantha, Scott, and Alex Martin (Mario), Vanessa Kosinski (Sandra), Kaitlyn and Allyson Martin (Keith); eight sisters and two brothers, Donata Lavoie, Lorraine Doiron, Corinne Martin, Nelida Verret, all of Edmundston, NB, Dora Williams of Shediac, NB, Rachel Porier of Moncton, NB, Nicole Couturier of Summerside, PEI, Anne Daniels of Jasper, AB, Gerald Martin of St. Basile, NB, and Numa Martin of Edmundston, NB.
Besides his parents, Aldeo was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Therese (Cyr) Martin, a daughter, Sandra (Martin) Kosinski, and a brother Gracien Martin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, August 11, 2025 at the St. David Church. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday morning 9 – 9:45 at the church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114- 10th Ave., Madawaska.
