IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Allen R.
Thibodeau
June 13, 1948 – September 5, 2025
Fort Kent--- Allen Reno Thibodeau, 77, passed away peacefully September 5, 2025. He was born in St Francis on June 13, 1948, to Valmond and Marcella Thibodeau. He graduated from Fort Kent Community High School in 1966 and attended the University of Maine at Fort Kent, majoring in English. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army on April 24, 1969.
One of his proudest accomplishments as a serviceman was becoming a Pathfinder Paratrooper in the US Army 1st Cavalry Division. He reached the rank of Sargent prior to his honorable discharge and returning home in December 1970. "Lest We Forget"
On September 5, 1975, he married Joan Deprey. They shared exactly 50 years of marriage and raised two beautiful children, Adam Thibodeau and Sarah Thibodeau Tietgens (Joe). Allen took immense pride in his grandchildren: Aidan, Addyson, Ashtyn, and Meredith.
He was also highly accomplished in Uechi-Ryu, an Okinawan style of karate, and in 2004 was awarded a sixth-degree black belt at Jim Robinson's Karate School in Fort Kent. He shared his love for karate with his entire family. Skiing was another of Allen's passions. He served on the ski patrol at Lonesome Pine Trails for many decades and passed on his love of the sport to both friends and family—memories that will be treasured for a lifetime. Allen also enjoyed spending time at Wallagrass Lake, where he loved fishing, hiking, and biking. He brought many family and friends on countless adventures, each one filled with joy and meaning.
He is survived by his siblings: Diane Savarese, Leland Thibodeau (Jeannie), Lynn Daigle (Eugene), Robin D'Amboise, Kim D'Amboise (Paul), and Sheri Albert (Michael). He was predeceased by his parents, Valmond and Marcella Thibodeau. He will be missed dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, September 12, 2025, St. Joseph Church, Church Ave., Soldier Pond, with military honors.
