Hamlin --- Alphe J. Ouellette, 81, died Friday, August 19, 2016, at a Bangor hospital, with his loving wife at his side. He was born June 12, 1935 in Siegas, NB, Canada, a son of the late Clifford and Claire (Godin) Ouellette.
Alphe was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1635, Van Buren, and a parishioner of St. Joseph Church. He and his wife spent many years working and living in Massachusetts, until his retirement in 1985. After relocating to Hamlin, Alphe and his wife enjoyed fishing, shopping and especially visiting family and friends.
He is survived by: his beloved wife of over 61 years, Alphena Ouellette of Hamlin; two sisters, Gertrude Thibodeau of Caribou and Patsy Rose of Fort Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Alphe is predeceased by 2 sisters, Alvine Hitchcomb and Lucille Roy and 2 brothers Rosaire and John Ouellette
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hamlin Road, Hamlin. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren, ME 04785.
