Madawaska---Alphy J. Pelletier, 90, passed away on November 1, 2016 at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born in St. David on November 29, 1925, son of the late Joseph and Delina (Chasse) Pelletier. Alphy joined the United States Air Force and served in World War II. After his return from his military service, he owned and operated a potato farm until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 147 of Madawaska. Alphy is survived by nine children, Marlene Champagne and her husband Dennis of Florida, Gerry Pelletier and his wife Rina of Madawaska, Judy Dionne and her husband Marcel of Madawaska, Michael Pelletier of Indiana, Eileen Mowen and her husband Raymond of Florida, Brenda Sirois and her husband Ron of Frenchville, Tina Forde and her husband Christopher of Florida, David Pelletier of Florida, Lisa Mechalko of Caribou; one daughter-in-law, Audrey Pelletier; twenty one grandchildren; fifteen great- grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Landry) Pelletier; one son, Dean Pelletier; seven siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 8:30am until 9:45am on Saturday before the service. Interment will be held immediately following the service in the Parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Forest Hill Activity Department, 25 Bolduc Ave., Fort Kent, ME 04743.
