Van Buren--- Andre R. Cyr, 88, peacefully entered into the loving embrace of his late wife on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He was born May 1, 1935, in Notre Dame de Lourdes, NB, Canada, a son of the late Noe and Aurore (Thibodeau) Cyr.

Andre worked many years for Rudolph Blier in his lumber and cedar mill. He was an excellent millwright and was a master sharpener. He was a lifelong member of the Van Buren ATV club where he loved maintaining the local trails and cherished the many friends and memories he made along the way. Andre cherished his children more than anyone and loved to support all their life accomplishments.

He is survived by two children, Roland Cyr and his wife Kimberly of Holden, and Angela Pedley of Van Buren; seven siblings Gerald Cyr, Jean Paul Cyr, Noella Ouellette, Marie Paule Fortugno, Julienne Jambard, Jullien Cyr, Hubert Cyr; many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Andre was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Renette (Desjardins) Cyr, in 2002, three siblings, Mona Vienau, Veronique Dube, and Hudor Cyr.

A graveside service will be celebrated at 1 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Grand River Cemetery, State Street, Van Buren. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
