Obituary

Fort Kent--Ann Winthrop Osborn Gendreau, 90, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, in Fort Kent, ME. Born March 12, 1934, in New York, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Lees and Walter Osborn. A longtime resident of Norwalk, Connecticut, she co-managed Gendreau Realty, with her husband, the late Camille Gendreau, before relocating to St. Francis, ME. It was there she obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of Maine at Fort Kent in 1979, before being employed as an officer at the US Customs and Border Protection - Fort Kent Port of Entry. Ann is most remembered, however, for her talent as an artist. Painting was her passion, and her home was decorated with many scenes she re-created on canvas from the beauty of nature around her home, most notably the view from her living room window of the St John River below.

She is survived by her two children, John Gendreau and wife Nicky, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Michelle Landry and husband Conrad, of Sarasota, FL, and grandchildren Danielle Gendreau Marino, Robyn Gendreau Frank, Melissa Gendreau Barrett, Justin Landry, Christopher Gendreau, Kimberly Witvoet, Brittany Landry and great grandchildren, Ryann Frank Proulx, Megan Frank Murray, Andrew Barrett, Caroline Barrett, Samuel Marino, Grace Marino and Peyton, Rowan, Abel, Morgan and Alex Witvoet, and Camille Rae Gendreau.

She is predeceased by her husband Camille Gendreau, sons Roy Disco Gendreau and Peter Camille Gendreau, daughter-in-law Nancy Eggleston Gendreau, and great grand-daughter Hailey Marie Witvoet.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nursing staff at Crosswinds Residential Care facility in Fort Kent for the excellent care Ann received as a resident there.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, August 9th, 8:30 - 9:30 am at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home in Fort Kent followed by a Mass of Christian burial, 10:00 am at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis.
