IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anne
Chaisson
February 11, 1936 – July 24, 2025
Madawaska—Anne Chaisson (Marie Celine Anne Albert), 89, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Ridgewood Estates in Madawaska. She was born in Madawaska on February 11, 1936, daughter of the late Ernest and Ester (Dionne) Albert. Anne graduated from Madawaska High School in 1954. After high school, Anne worked as a secretary at Fraser Papers in Madawaska (what is now Twin Rivers). This period of time she met her first husband, Maurice Kirby, they shared their lives together until he passed away due to an illness on December 25, 1968, in Houlton. Anne and Maurice had many adventures together during their 14 years. Maurice's work brought them to different locations across the U.S. and abroad. Her sense of adventure allowed her to thrive as they relocated for Maurice's work. We know that her time in Miami and Paris were special years to her and she spoke fondly of these opportunities during her younger years. Anne remained in Houlton after Maurice's passing; working as a secretary at the Houlton Custom and Border Protection Port of Entry. This period of time, she met her second husband, Gilbert Chaisson. Anne and Gil married on January 4, 1975, at St. Mary's in Houlton. Anne continued to call Houlton her home and never lost the adventure to see the world and travel. Among their travel adventures, she and Gil truly enjoyed their Caribbean and Alaskan cruises. While travel was important, Anne loved her everyday life with Gil the most. Anne lost Gil to illness in January 2018. Her close friends allowed her to feel comfortable living alone in Houlton, but she made the decision to return to Madawaska in November of 2019. Returning home afforded her the chance to reconnect with family. She was able to share the cherished old memories; while holding onto her positive outlook making new memories with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and new friends she brought into her life. Anne is survived by her siblings, Louis Albert of Edmundston, Louise Grondin of Madawaska, Ernest "Ness" Albert of Frenchville, Claudette Levesque of Madawaska, James Albert of Madawaska; along with many special nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings, Leona "Kit" Roy, Edmund "Noir" Albert, Reginald Albert, Jean Paul Albert, Ernestine Albert, Bernice Albert; one step-son, Edward Chaisson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Relatives and friends may offer their condolences at the church on Thursday from 9am until 9:45am before the Mass. The siblings invite relatives and friends for a celebration of life immediately following the Mass in the basement of the church. Interment will be held at the Caribou Veterans Cemetery on Friday, August 8 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridgewood Estates, 480 Ridgeview Ave., Madawaska, ME 04756.
