Van Buren--- Anne "Taffy" Taferner, 79, entered lovingly into the embrace of the Lord during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 12, 2022, at a Caribou hospital. She was born March 29, 1942, in Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late Theodore Taferner and Ruth (Parker) Taferner.

Faith was paramount to Anne's life and was a dedicated communicant of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, Van Buren, and a former long-time communicant of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Norway. Gifted with a with a beautiful voice since she was three years old, Taffy loved to share music and her voice through the halls of her home, was a member of the St. Bruno-St. Remi Church Choir, and always had a song in her heart. Though she worked many years in an office, her true passion was carpentry, and she went on to specialize in restoration construction, specifically homes and projects from the turn of the twentieth century.

She last worked at Town of Bridgton, ME, as bookkeeper and accountant for over 10 years, and previously an office manager of Green Thumb Farms, Fryeburg over 15 years. Following her retirement, she and her sister purchased an old farmhouse and relocated to Van Buren, where they both continued to make restorations to the home.

She is survived by her loving sister, Maria Taferner of Van Buren; seven special nieces and nephews, Richard, Raymond, Sophie Grace, Roxy, Robin, Collette, and Robert; a lifelong, special friend, Michelle of Bridgton; and many dear friendships she's made all over.

Besides her parents, Taffy was predeceased by two brothers, Ramon and Joseph Dalmases.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Taffy's birthday, Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Main St., Van Buren. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
