Obituary

Van Buren--- Annette Gagnon, 94, died peacefully Sunday, April 19, 2015, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. She was born in Lille March 21, 1921, a daughter of the late Willie and Emma (Fortin) Madore. She was a former parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas, a lifetime member of the Daughters of Isabella, and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, all of Madawaska. Annette was a devoted homemaker, but still found time to work with the Van Buren parish as a cook for the Marist priests and former Borderview Manor, many years ago. Annette loved playing bingo and cards with her friends and family. The family of Annette Gagnon would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the New Wing staff of Borderview Rehab & Living Center for their dedicated care and compassion during Annette's stay. She is survived by: six sons, Roger Theriault and his wife Claudette of Augusta, Rudy Theriault and his wife Val of Idaho, Guy Theriault and his wife Gisele of Newburg, Conrad Theriault and his wife Rose of Wisconsin, Ronald Theriault of Massachusetts, and Danny Theriault and his wife Ann of Washington; two daughters, Gaetane Bernier and her husband Mitchell of Limestone, and Gisele Minella and her husband Jim of New York; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Annette is predeceased by a daughter, Jocelyn Smith, her first husband, Romeo Theriault, second husband, Oneal Gagnon, two brothers, Clarence and William Madore, and a sister, Dolores Anderson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 24, 2015, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Thursday 6-8:00 PM and Friday morning, 9-10:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Annette's name may be made to a church or charity of one's choice.
