Allagash--- Annie L. Paradis, 86, peacefully passed away May 15, 2024, at a Fort Kent hospital. She was born May 18, 1937, in Allagash, a daughter of the late Thomas and Hannah (Hafford) Pelletier.
Annie graduated from the University of Maine – Fort Kent. She was a longtime teacher for the former Allagash school, teaching Head Start up to second grade. She was the Town of Allagash Tax Collector for over 50 years. Following her retirement, Annie worked as a gatekeeper for North Maine Woods for a short time and assisted as a visiting nurse in her community. Annie was a long-time member of the Columbiettes, the American Legion Auxiliary, Allagash Historical Society, and the Fort Kent Senior Center. Annie was an exceptional baker and loved to spoil her visiting family and friends. She had a deep love for all wildlife that came around her yard and loved to feed her many deer companions as they stopped by.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Babin and her husband Carl of Fort Kent; one granddaughter, Whitney Davenport and her husband Kyle of Fort Kent; two honorable "grandchildren," Burke Perreault of Fort Kent, and Nicole Anderson and her husband Derek of Windham; three great grandchildren, Wesley, Crew & Ensley; one brother, Henry Pelletier and his wife Tina of St. John; a longtime companion, Gus Gauvin of Fort Kent; and many nieces and nephews
Besides her parents, Annie was predeceased by her first husband, Duncan McBreairty, her second husband, Nelson Paradis, four siblings, Winifred, Clarence, Milton, and T. "Danny" Pelletier, and a special niece, Wendy Pelletier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 320 Dickey Rd., Allagash. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
