Van Buren---Antoine J. Levesque, 90, passed away at a Van Buren health care facility surrounded by his loving wife and family on April 8, 2017, the eve of his 70th wedding anniversary. He was born June 22, 1926 in Van Buren, the son of Fred & Marie (Masse) Levesque.
He was a modest man of many talents and enjoyed helping all his children with whatever they needed. He was a gentle and caring man who loved his family. He was a World War II US Army Veteran, an avid parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, and a life member of the American Legion, Post #49, Van Buren.
He is survived by: his wife of 70 years, Irene (Morrow) Levesque of Van Buren; eight children, Maynard Levesque and his wife Elaine, Linda Honto and her husband Alex, all of Van Buren, Donald Levesque and his wife Alice of Littleton, NH, Noreen Pelletier and her husband John of Van Buren, Eldon Levesque and his wife Connie of Presque Isle, Gary Levesque and his wife Betty of Van Buren, Wayne Levesque and his partner Claudette of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, and Gene Levesque and his wife Rachel of Van Buren; six siblings, Nelson Levesque, Alvine Daigle, Anne Morrow, Raymond Levesque, Gilberte Daigle, and Angelo Levesque; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Antoine is predeceased by six siblings, Cecile Parent, Therese Parent, Irene Roy, Arsene Levesque, Clauda Roy, and Gerard Levesque
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Tuesday 6-8:00 PM and Wednesday morning 9-10:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Spring interment will be in Grand River Cemetery.
