Obituary

Madawaska/Van Buren---Antoinette M. Marquis, 98, died April 26, 2019 at a Madawaska health care facility.  She was born in Van Buren on February 6, 1921, daughter of the late Felix Michaud and Philomene (Paradis) Poirier.  Madame Tony lived a long and healthy lifestyle.  She was motivated by her love of family and love of God.  She enjoyed cooking, knitting, playing cards, and exercising, especially her daily walks.  She was a role model among her peers at Maison Acadienne and Ridgewood Estates.  She is survived by four children, Philip Marquis (Leona) of Van Buren, Alice Parent (Paul Baker) of Winslow, Louis Marquis (Diana) of E. Granby, CT, and Rev. John Marquis (Rebecca) of W. Springfield, MA; four grandchildren, Chris Harman, Mark Parent, Paul Marquis, and Gary Marquis; twelve great grandchildren, Lucas, Grace, Sam, Emily, Matthew, Daniel, Ryan, Lydia, Michael, Gabrielle, Sebastian, and Sam; one sister, Lorraine Pelletier of Madawaska; two special nieces, Carline Parent and Simone Vaillancourt; and many more nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by husband, George Marquis; one grand-daughter, Renne Marquis; a son-in-law, Len Parent; eight siblings, Madeleine, Claire, Jackie, Alphie, Yolande, Arthur, Edna, and Bernard.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the St. Bruno Church in Van Buren.  Interment will be held immediately following the Mass in the Parish cemetery.
