Van Buren--- Arlene J. Beaulieu, 91, peacefully entered through the Gates of Heaven and into the waiting arms of her husband on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. She was born September 15, 1929, in Van Buren, a daughter of the late Onezime and Phileme (Madore) Jacques.
Arlene was a devoted homemaker and prided herself for caring for her husband and children, but worked several years keeping house and cooking for the former St. Bruno rectory. A lifetime parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, she was also a longtime member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Third Order of Mary. In her younger years, she enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved hearing from her children and grandchildren and adored their yearly visits.
She is survived by: a daughter Sandra Boynton and her husband Alan of Eddington; a son, Peter Beaulieu and his wife Mary of Anderson, SC; two granddaughters, Stepheni Gilreath and her husband Kevin, and Channell Goodwin and her husband Jeff; four great grandchildren, Mason, Tucker, Ethan, and Emily; and several nieces and nephews
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Ivan Beaulieu, in 2004, a son, Steven Beaulieu in 1968, four brothers, Reno, Leo James, Donat, and Pierre Jacques; and one sister, Corinne Girouard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, June 21, 2021, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday morning 8:30 – 9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
