Obituary

Madawaska---Armand P. Dumais, 82, passed away suddenly on December 3, 2013 at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born in Van Buren on April 28, 1931, son of the late Willie and Alice (Madore) Dumais. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion post #147 of Madawaska, where he volunteered many hours of his time. Armand was instrumental in organizing a blood donation program through the VFW, before the Red Cross blood program existed. He also volunteered much of his time to the AA program, helping many people through difficult times. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeannine (Lagasse) Dumais of Madawaska; his brother-in-law, Roger Lagasse and his wife Janine of Fort Kent; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Blanche, Verna, and Jean; two brothers, Abel, Albert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Tuesday, December 10 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. As per Armand's request there will be no visiting hours. Interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC.
