Obituary

Van Buren--- Armand J. Sirois, 78, died Saturday, September 20, 2014, after a long illness. He was born March 29, 1936 in Van Buren, a son of the late Jean and Alma (Fournier) Sirois. Armand enlisted with the US Navy, proudly serving aboard the USS Forest Sherman from 1955 until 1959. Upon his return to Van Buren, he worked as a welder as well as plumbing & heating for many years. He was always one to keep busy; if not at work, he'd be in his workshop rebuilding something new that best suited him. In the winter he enjoyed plowing driveways - no matter how little snow had accumulated. He is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Betty (Carini) Sirois of Van Buren; five children, Betty Morrow Roy and her husband Ken, Joseph Sirois and his companion Chantel, Jeff Sirois, Cyndi Roy and her husband Jeannot, and Cheryl Lizotte, all of Van Buren; two brothers, Gilbert Sirois of Van Buren and Richard Sirois of New Hampshire; three sisters, Ginger Levasseur, Fern Rodrigues, and Betty Lemieux, all of New Hampshire; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren, with one on the way. Besides his parents, Armand is predeceased by two sons, John and James Sirois, three siblings, Adrian Sirois, Jeanne Perreault, and Edna Perreault, and a son-in-law, Melvin Morrow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. There will be no calling hours. Burial with military honors will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
