Fort Kent - Arms "Ellery" R. Labbe, 88, of Fort Kent, Maine, passed away on February 19, 2024. He was born on March 7, 1935, in Wallagrass. A devoted family man and loving husband to Muriel for 69 years, Arms also cherished his community, attributing much of his personal growth to the support of his fellow towns people. Over the years, Arms was past president of the Lions club and a member for almost 60 years, where people got to know him as "Ti Joe.' He was a founding member of the Senior Citizens Center. He was active on the School Board, Fort Kent Golf Club, and Senior College. In 2012, Arms received an honorary degree from UMFK for his community achievements while being named Citizen of the Year.  Arms proudly served in the National Guard for 23 years, demonstrating his dedication to his country. He was best known for his leadership at Nadeau's House of Furniture, a family business he owned and operated from 1976 to 2012, alongside his sons Pat, Dave, and Phil.  In addition to Muriel, Arms is survived by his brother Legs and his 5 children and their spouses, Pat and Jan, Diane and Roland, David and Sandra, Elaine and Bob, and Phil. He was preceded in death by his parents Aime and Veronica, and Phil's partner of 17 years, Melanie. Arms was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren who brought him great joy. Arms found solace in worship at St. John Vianny Parish, where he actively practiced his faith and over the years served on the parish council and various committees. To the very end, his daily rosary was one of the highlights of his day.  In his leisure time, Arms enjoyed baseball, skiing, golf, bowling, and was an avid cribbage player. He also had a passion for sketching. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 27, at 11:00 at St. Louis Church.  In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Fort Kent Senior Center, 20 Pine St., Fort Kent, ME 04743, the Fort Kent Golf Club, 354 St. John Rd., Fort Kent, ME 04743, or to the Fort Kent Lions Club, P.O.
