Madawaska---Arthur L. Branscombe, 84, passed away July 8, 2010 at a Madawaska health care facility. He was born in Rothwell, New Brunswick on June 8, 1926 the son of Lee and Nina (Barton) Branscombe. He met the love of his life, Germaine Albert in the spring of 1948 and they were married in October of that year. Arthur worked for sixteen years as a tour supervisor for Fraser Paper, retiring in 1988 with forty years of service. He had a keen sense of humor and had made many friends along the way. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and making beautiful needlepoint pictures for relaxation. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty two years, Germaine (Albert) Branscombe of Madawaska; one brother, Garnet Branscombe and his wife Rolly of Edmundston; two daughters, Patricia Wrisley and her husband Dayton of Lisbon Falls, Linda Cyr and her husband Roland of Allagash; one son, Allen Branscombe and his wife Joyce of Madawaksa; eight grandchildren, Brian, Jessica, Karen, Cindy, Vicky, Davis, Travis, Erica; six great grandchildren, Michelle, Connor, Kaitlyn, Cyprian, Mackenzie, and soon to arrive Kristiana. He was predeceased by his three sisters, Pearl, Beatrice, and Ruby. A Funeral Service will be held 10am on Monday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Sunday and from 9am until time of service on Monday. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
