Madawaska--- Arthur "Gino" Collins, 75, died peacefully Saturday morning, September 20, 2014, at his home following a 13 year battle with cancer. He was born July 19, 1939 in Cincinnati, OH, a son of the late Lloyd and Alvera (Schuster) Collins. He enlisted with the US Air Force in 1956, serving in Japan and stateside at Loring Air Force Base. Following his honorable discharge in 1959, he relocated to Madawaska, marrying his sweetheart Rina Roussel in 1960. Gino loved driving truck and spent his working life driving for Morin Farms, Little River, and last worked as a trucker for Clockwise Trucking, before his retirement in 1997. He is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Rina (Roussel) Collins of Madawaska; four children, Kim Lagasse and her husband Thomas of St. David, Tina Deschaine and her companion Gilles Thibodeau of St. Jacques, NB, Canada, Arthur Collins, Jr. and his wife Susan Harrison of Caribou, Scott Collins and his companion Leah English of Waterville; one brother, Joseph Collins of Madawaska; four grandchildren, Reneé, Tommy, Hunter & Gabrielle; four great grandchildren, Dylan, T.J., Daryn & Isabelle; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gino is predeceased by two siblings, Lloyd Collins Jr. and Joyce Davis. A funeral service with military honors will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Maine Veterans Cemetery-Caribou, Lombard Rd., Caribou. There will be no calling hours.
