September 24, 1929 – January 31, 2020
Madawaska --- Aurele Clavette, 90, passed away on January 31, 2020, at a Madawaska healthcare facility, peacefully, with his daughter Joan by his side. He was born in Eagle Lake on September 24, 1929, son of Levite and Marie Louise (Deschamp) Clavette. He is survived by his three children, Nancy Clavette and her husband Bert Bolle of Connecticut, Joan Chasse and her husband Bob of Frenchville, and James Clavette of Madawaska; three grandchildren, Lisa Chasse of Westbrook, April Beaulieu and her husband Chris of Madawaska, and Scott Chasse of Fort Kent; one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh; and two step-great-grandchildren, Elliot and Lucie; one brother, Levite "J.R." Clavette Jr. and his wife Charlene of Connecticut; along with many nieces and nephews. Aurele was a member of the American Legion Post 147 in Madawaska. He worked at Fraser Paper Company for 43 years before retiring. After retirement he worked for Dick Corbin as a chauffeur for many years. He loved to ride his Gold Wing motorcycle, snowmobiling, and daily coffee at McDonalds. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Martine (Martin) Clavette of 66 years; and five siblings; Albert "bee" Clavette, Ronald "Boy" Clavette, Robert "Bobby" Clavette, Norman "Pitou" Clavette and Lucille Marquis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, June 15, 2020 the St. Thomas Church in Madawaska. Family and friends may call at the church from 9-9:45, the morning of the service. Interment will immediately follow in the Parish Cemetery.
