Madawaska---Aurore Gervais,76, passed away September 15, 2012 at a Frenchville health care facility. She was born in St. Anne, New Brunswick on January 4, 1936, daughter of the late George and Marie (Sirois) Martin. Herby and Aurore were in business for thirty two years. Together they owned and operated the family grocery store for twenty two years and Big Daddy's Restaurant for ten years. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella for over fifty years, a member of the American Legion Auxillary for over fifty four years, as well as a member of the Lioness Club in the 1980's. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. Aurore enjoyed playing cards with her friends at La Maison Acadienne. She was a devoted mother and loved her grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed spending time at the lake with her family and cooking ployes for them. Aurore is survived by her five children, Kathleen Gervias of Madawaska, Gary Gervais and his wife Dianne of Georgia, Michael Gervais and his wife Julie of Windham, Carol Kamm and her husband Jay of Caribou, Lisa Gendreau and her husband Stephen of St. David; eight grandchildren, Audrey and Emily Gervais, Marchia and Chrystal Miller, Nicole and Sarah Gendreau, Nathanael and Matthew Kamm; one sister, Laurianne Lajoie of Edmundston. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of forty nine years, Herbert J. Gervais; one sister, Dorilla Albert; four brothers, Camile, Claude, Yvon, Conde; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Wednesday, September 19 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Tuesday and from 8:30am until time of service on Wednesday. Interment will take place immediately following the mass at the St. David Cemetery.
