MADAWASKA - Azilda (Ouellette) Brown, 93, died peacefully Nov. 14, 2010, at a Madawaska health care facility. Azilda was born March 17, 1917, in Frenchville, the daugther of Ernest and Maxite (Morneault) Ouellette. She worked part time at Freda's Dress Shop for several years and also was a member of Daughters of Isabella. Azilda had several favorite pastimes, including knitting, reading, playing bridge, bowling, gardening, and especially baking cookies for her grandchildren. She loved having her family over for the holidays. She is survived by six children, Raymond "Tim" Brown and his wife, Janet, Sandra and her husband, Nelson Dubois, Charles Brown and his wife, Cindy, Paul Brown and his wife, Pamela, Susan and her husband, Jamie Rowe, and Michael Brown and his wife, Louise; 11 grandchildren, Cynthia, Scott, Dawn, Ross, Bobbie, Carrie, Jodie, Ian, Kelly, Erin and Taylor; 13 great-grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Eva Fogg; special brother-in-law, Donald Brown; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond "Bud" Brown, in 1998; and four sisters, Aurilla, Patrica, Thelma and Prisilla. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at Lajoie Funeral Home, Madawaska. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment will be afterward at the parish cemetery.
