Obituary

Van Buren--- Azilda Cote, 90, peacefully entered into rest Thursday, October 10, 2019. She was born May 31, 1929 in Drummond, NB, Canada, a daughter of the late Joseph and Adele (Bonenfant) Pelletier.

She last worked as a CRMA at Borderview Rehab and Nursing, Van Buren, followed by several years of operating a boarding home at her residence. Previously she worked overnights for Maine Potato Service for many years as a processor. She loved to play BINGO, attending many games in Van Buren and around Canada, no matter how severe the snowstorm was. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends and tuning in to her beloved Boston Red Sox. Family was the center of her life and she made it well know during her conversations that she was so proud of her husband, their children, their spouses, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by: four children, Pauline Cote of Van Buren, Louis "Roy" Cote and his wife Linda of Sacramento, CA, Dan Cote and his wife Bab of Long Lake, and Lea Ayotte and her husband Steve of Standish; six siblings, Eva Rioux, Jeannette McCarthy, Diane Bernier, Ronald Pelletier, Muriel Michaud, and Nicole Cormier, all of Canada; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Cote; 8 grandchildren; 15  great grandchildren with one on the way; and two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Azilda was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Paul Cote in 2017, three children, Herby Cote in 2019, Ivan Cote in 1973, and infant Joan Cote, and four siblings, Camille Pelletier, Aime Pelletier, Rose St. Amand, and Reginald Pelletier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Tuesday evening 6-8:00 PM and Wednesday morning 8:30-9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
