Madawaska--- Barbara E. Paradis, 81, peacefully passed away October 21, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 18, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late William and Ruth (Leal) Dietrich and raised in and around New York City.

Barbara and her husband relocated to the beautiful St. John River Valley in 1975 following the birth of their second child. Barbara loved and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved to visit her family during many trips to New York City.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Osgood of St. David and Kelly Dionne of Madawaska: six siblings, Bill Dietrich, Theresa Principe, Larry Dietrich, Janet Valentino, Eileen Cesarski, and Ruth Muscarella ; seven grandchildren, Matthieu Chenard, Kylie Jacques and her husband Josh, Kaylee Dionne, Jay Osgood, Celeste Lausier, Cameron Lausier, and Shane Osgood; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her loving husband of 33 years, Eddie Paradis, a daughter, Kim Lausier, and a sister, Joan Grant.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, October 31, 2025, at St. Thomas Church, Madawaska. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
