Van Buren--- Beatrice Madore peacefully entered into Eternal Rest on November 16, 2023, several days after her 96th birthday. She was born November 12, 1927 in Portage, a daughter of the late Levite and Yvonne (Daigle) Cormier, and raised in Keegan and Van Buren.
She was a cashier at the former local A&P Grocery and former Grants. Following her marriage to her beloved husband, Conde, she quickly became the best farm hand on the family's homestead, and worked alongside her husband for many years even as she raised her four children. Beatrice liked to play her keyboard and visiting her friends and family for many lively card games. She had a beautiful sense of humor and loved to share a good-natured joke to anyone she met.
She is survived by three children, Rodney Madore and his wife Vanda, Linda Madore and her husband Gene, all of Van Buren, and Steven Madore and his wife Anne of Ste. Leonard, NB; five grandchildren, Justin Madore and his wife Christine, Melanie Bellefleur and her husband Joel, Gabriel Madore, Nicky Bailey and her husband Ryan, and Erin Madore and her fiancé David Bouley; six great grandchildren, Ryan, Bella, Ezra, Rosalie, Loxley, Natalie; a sister-in-law, Eloise Cormier of Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Conde E. Madore, in 2003, a daughter, Mona Young in 2012, three siblings, Philip Cormier, Antoinette Michaud, and Gilbert Cormier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Saturday morning from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beatrice's name may be made to: Borderview Activity Fund, 208 State Street, Van Buren, ME 04785 or St. Bruno/Remi Parish Needs c/o Knights of Columbus, 284 Main St., Van Buren, ME 04785.
