St. John Plantation--- Benoit M. Michaud, 90, peacefully entered into rest and into the loving arms of his beloved wife on April 27, 2024, at his home with his family at his side. He was born October 8, 1933 in Pohenegamook, QC, Canada, a son of the late Magloire and Alphonsine (St. Pierre) Michaud.

Benoit owned and operated OB Michaud trucking for over 20 years with his wife until their retirement in 1996. Even after retirement, he continued to drive truck for various local transportation companies. Previously Benoit was a lumberjack and harvested many of the woods in Allagash and transported to Canada. Benoit loved boating, sea doo, and water skiing at the family camp on Long Lake, Quebec, and motorcycling all around Quebec to visit his many friends and family. He is fondly remembered by all as a dedicated family man that was an exceptionally hard worker and pillar of his family.

He is survived by seven children, Donald Michaud and husband Leyneker Paul Reyes of Key West, FL, Pauline Booth of Jensen Beach, FL, Linda Michaud and her companion Mario Tremblay of Charlevoix, QC, Jean-Marc Michaud and wife, Lisa of Fort Kent, Francois Michaud of Deland, FL, Yvan Michaud and friend Lisa Charette of St. John, and Shirley Michaud and fiancé Ivan Davies of Bell, FL; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; two sisters Lorette Theberge of Sully, QC and Suzanne Michaud and her husband Pierre of Quebec City, QC; and several nieces and nephews

Besides his parents, Benoit was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Odette (Bouchard) Michaud in 2017, and one sister, Elaine Pelletier

A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Sunday evening 6 – 8 PM and Monday morning 8:30 – 9:45 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
