Obituary

Madawaska--- Bernadette Collin, 91, died peacefully Monday, January 9, 2017, at a Fort Kent hospital. She was born November 20, 1925 in St. David, a daughter of the late Ernest and Nathalie (Lavoie) Morin, and raised in St. Agatha.

She was a hard-working, dedicated farmer's wife, spending many days alongside her husband tending the land. She was also a master gardener and grew all of the produce for her home, canned her goods, and shared with her neighbors. A perfectionist, she enjoyed knitting, crochet, sewing, embroidery, or any task that would help her family and the farm prosper.

She is survived by: her daughter, Avis Collin of Ottawa, ON, Canada; one sister, Marie Marthe Jewett of Lewiston; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Bernadette is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Aurelle Collin, and three siblings, Tina Boone, Sylvio Morin & Gilbert Morin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at St. Gerard-Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Grand Isle. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday evening 6-8:00 PM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114-10th Ave., Madawaska. There will be no visitation Tuesday morning. Spring burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Lille.
