Fort Kent--- Bernice Blier, 98, peacefully entered into Eternal Life on March 24, 2026. She was born July 3, 1927, in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Joseph and Febrenie (Pelletier) Boucher.
While raising her family, she was the owner of former Blier’s Grocery for several years and assisted her husband with Blier’s Repair Shop. She retired as a meal site manager from Aroostook Area Agency on Aging. Bernice was a loving mother and fostered ten children over her lifetime, creating cherished memories. She was a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Columbiettes. Bernice was an avid card player and loved going out to dance and always dressed well for the occasion.
Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Edward “Eddie” Blier in 1996, a daughter and her very best friend, Nadine Landry in 2022, and her foster children Barbara Hoff, Norma Michaud, Linda Cyr, and Paul Bard; nine siblings, Ludger Boucher, Valere Boucher, Emery Boucher, Camille Boucher, Archie Boucher, Irene Pelletier, Eva Roy, Germaine Blier, and Nora Michaud.
She is survived by her foster children Sherlene Ouellette, Carol Plourde, Bonnie Maskell, Marie Cremonise, Bobby Lafrance, and Allen Lafrance; her devoted son-in-law, who cared for Bernice for many years, Jean-Guy and his wife Claire Landry; two special grandsons, Lenny Landry and his wife Marla, and Justin Eddie Landry; and many foster grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at St. Louis Church, Fort Kent. There will be no calling hours. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernice’s name may be made to Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, c/o NMMC, 194 E. Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
