Madawaska—Bernice Desjardins, 93, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2022, at the Ridgewood Estate Assisted Living Facility. She was born in Madawaska on November 16, 1927, daughter of the late Leonard and Leonie (Fongemie) Michaud. Bernice will always be remembered for her strong devotion to her religion. She is survived by her four children, Marilyn Michaud and her husband Keith of Bangor, Alan Desjardins and his wife Susan of Madawaska, Ruth Bates of Veazie, Charles Desjardins and his companion Karen of Madawaska; 6 grandchildren, Adam Michaud, Cody Desjardins, Tara Desjardins, Terry Bates, Darcy Bates, and Alex Bates; 1 great-granddaughter, Evangeline Amshoff-Desjardins. She's predeceased by her husband Clifford Desjardins in 1997; along with all her siblings. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the St. David Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Friday, May 27, 2022. Interment will follow at the Parish cemetery.
