Obituary

St. Francis—Betty (Kelly) Jandreau, 82, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022, at a Fort Kent health care facility, with her family by her side. She was born on May 2, 1939, daughter of the late Harley and Elizabeth (Jackson) Kelly.   Our Mother left her home in Allagash as a teenager and moved with her brother Roger and sister in-law in St. Francis.  Shortly after, she met our Dad, married and had 8 children together.  They enjoyed 58 years of marriage before his passing in 2014. Since his death, our Mother's heart was broken. We will remember Mom and Dad for the love they shared with each other and the love they instilled in our family. It will sustain us all until we meet them again. It was only fitting that in her last 10 months she returned to "live" with her brother Roger at Forest Hill.  She has finally been reunited with her fishing partner in glorious Heaven and they are camping somewhere along a river with their Coleman stove, frying pan full of fish and the canoe and motor on shore. Betty is survived by four sons, Ronald and wife, Pauline Jandreau of Fort Kent, Kenneth and wife, Deborah Jandreau of St. Francis, Philip Jandreau and partner Sandra of St. Francis, Gerald and wife, Beverly Jandreau of St. Francis; four daughters, Karen and husband, Dean Plourde of Fort Kent, Jenny and husband, Larry Jandreau of St. Francis, Mary and husband, Danny Landry of St. Francis, Caryl and husband, Trevor O'Leary of St. Francis; 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, whom she loved with every fiber of her heart; a special granddaughter and favorite CNA, Jenna O'Leary, special granddaughter Graci Landry whom she passed on her knitting skills to, and special granddaughter Kellie Jandreau . All 3 of them were able to be with her when we couldn't visit, hug or touch Mom. That was priceless to us. And we can't forget her two little people, Jami and Emryn; along with one special Aunt Annie Martin. She was predeceased by one granddaughter Robyn Sara Jandreau and siblings Earl and Roger Kelly and Mary Hughes. Her surviving siblings are Ransford (Pike), James, Henry, Claude, Galen, Lee Kelly and Rita Hall, Hilda Nadeau, Hope Kelly.  Betty is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, 9:00 a.m. at St. Francis cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
