Obituary

Marie Blanche Olivette Albert Corriveau, born October 15, 1936, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 11, 2022. Blanche was the daughter of Clementine and Joseph Albert from St-Beniot-Abbe, Packington, Quebec, Canada. Blanche worked at SAD#27 elementary school as a cook. Together with her husband James Nelson, she started Corriveau Construction in 1981. Blanche dedicated her early life to managing the books of the business while caring for their six children. As the Corriveau family matriarch, Blanche worked tirelessly to make sure her family felt endless love and wanted for nothing. She instilled in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren a strong work ethic and an overwhelming pride for family and togetherness. Whether it was preparing meals at camp fit for the whole neighborhood, passing out gifts while surrounded by friends and family at Christmas, or sitting quietly knitting wool socks and mittens in the evenings, Blanche always had her family on her mind and in her heart. Together with her beloved James she spent many years tending to their large garden and distributing the fruits (and vegetables) of their labor to friends and family. Her generosity knew no bounds and left its mark on all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Blanche is survived by her husband, James Nelson Corriveau, whom she was married to for 64 loving years and her six children, Reno Corriveau and his wife Susan, Susan Corriveau-Michaud and her husband Don, Phillip Corriveau and his partner Lisa, Leo Corriveau, Betty Pooler, and Gale Rioux and her husband Reno. Blanche is also survived by her grandchildren, Randy, Jessica, Craig, Crystal, Angela, Andrea, Tyler, Benjamin, Zachary, Abigail, and Emma. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Mikayla, Brady, Mackenzie, Chase, Ellison, Jacoby, Bethany, Lindsey, Piper, Molly, Myles, Kayla, Parker, Charlie, and Marshall, and her great great grandchild, Nova. Blanche is survived by her brother Jean Guy Albert and his wife Noella, as well as her nephew Fernand Soucie and his wife Louise. She was predeceased by her parents Clementine and Joseph Albert, as well as her two brothers and two sisters; Conrad Picard and his wife Jeannine, Joseph Albert and his wife Annabelle, Rita Soucie and husband Ernie, and Therese Fecteau and her husband Thadodule.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2PM on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the St. Louis Church.  Family and friends may call at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home from 12PM until 1:45PM on Friday before the Mass.  Interment will be held immediately following the Mass at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Wallagrass.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
