Obituary

Fort Kent, Maine – Brenda Joan (Noyes) Boucher, 75, passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 13, 2025. She was born April 13, 1950, in Old Town, Maine, the daughter of Merle and Elaine (Morancy) Noyes.

The second of four siblings, Brenda was raised in Bradley, and later Old Town, Maine. She grew up with fond memories of Aroostook Bible Camp, family road trips, and time spent by the water at Beach Hill Pond. Brenda graduated from Old Town High School Class of 1968 and earned her education degree at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She married Howard Nadeau, started her family, and began teaching at Saint Francis Elementary School. She later taught at Fort Kent Elementary School and took great pride in her work and the achievements of her students. Widowed with two children in 1980, she later married Norman "Kutch" Boucher with whom she had her third child. She retired from teaching in 2007 after 34 years.

Brenda found joy in life's simple pleasures such as tending her gardens, summers at camp, trips to the coast, and hosting holiday gatherings. Her friends and family will remember her for her love of local live music, craft fairs, and attending sporting events to cheer on grandchildren. Having grown up from humble beginnings, Brenda developed a deep appreciation of the things she worked hard to achieve. She took quiet pride in presenting herself with care. Her home was a reflection of her values – neat, dutifully maintained, cared for thoughtfully, and a work of love.

In addition to her parents, Brenda is predeceased by her brother Steven Noyes, her first husband, Howard Nadeau, and her second husband, Norman "Kutch" Boucher. She is survived by her sister Merlene Cowles (husband James Lusher) of Boothbay Harbor, sister Rebecca Noyes of Goose Creek, SC, daughter Jennifer Roy (husband Alan) of Fort Kent, son Jody Nadeau of Fargo, ND, son Jonathan Boucher (wife Kimberly) of Bangor, and her six grandchildren: Samantha and Elizabeth Roy, Priya Nadeau, and James, Magnolia, and Mathilda Boucher. She is also survived by many dear friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as her significant other Gilman Babin of Fort Kent.

A visitation will be held from 6-8pm Monday, June 23rd at Lajoie – Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E Main St, Fort Kent.
