Obituary
Brenda Lynn McKenzie, 59, of Presque Isle, passed away peacefully, and surrounded by family at the hospice House of Comfort.
Brenda was born in Presque Isle to Joyce Beverly Bolstridge and Henry Clifton Bolstridge on July 27th, 1959. They lived and raised her and her brother Ronald Bolstridge in Ashland, Maine where she attended school.
Brenda married Rick C. McKenzie August 18th, 2001 at the Ashland Advent Christian Church. For twenty years they were together filling Brenda's childhood home with love, family, and laughter.
Brenda was a working single mother who was employed as a bartender, dishwasher, waitress, and a cook at Michauds. She later ran her own gift shop in 1997, and after that she worked every fall making wreaths. Brenda's hobbies were based on crafts. One of her favorite things to make were candles. Brenda spent most of her life taking care of others, like taking care of her mother for several years.
Brenda is survived by her three children; Floyd Clifton Bolstridge, Christina Ann Nichols, and Britany Lisa Gould, her seven grandchildren; Kayla McGrath Jaida Lynn Bolstridge, Madasyn Nicole Shorey, Olivia Lee Chalou, Gage Alexander Bolstridge, Jessica Danielle Shorey, Lydia Jewel Shorey, and Sierra Mae Bolstridge, her brother, Ronald Lee Bolstridge, and nephew Benjamin Bolstridge, and her two step-children; Amanda Olean McKenzie, Rick Clyde McKenzie, and Aimee Hallee.
Brenda is preceded in death by father Henry C. Bolstridge and Joyce B. Bolstridge.
The family would like to thank Pastor Bill Harris and the Advent Christian Church for all their help and support during this sad time.
Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 2nd at the Ashland Advent Christian Church with Pastor Bill Harris . Calling hours will be held from 1:00PM-2:00PM for those who would like to pay respects to the family. Refreshments will be served at the end of the service. www.LajoieFuneralHome.com
