Carissa Dumont, 49, passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2023. She was born December 29, 1973, in the small town of Fort Kent, ME. In 1992, Carissa graduated from Fort Kent Community High School and attended college, later becoming a pharmacy technician and working in Madawaska. She volunteered at a local animal shelter for a number of years before adopting her own two cats to care for. She was a talented daughter, a compassionate sister, and a loving mother.

Carissa is survived by her daughter Shelbie Dumais of Madawaska, ME, her parents Lawrence and Dolores (Martin) Dumont of Fort Kent, ME, sibling Kevin Dumont of Burlington, CT, her sister-in-law Julie Dumont of Burlington, CT, her nephew Jacob Dumont, sibling Tim Dumont of Fort Kent, ME, her sister-in-law Meghan Dumont of Fort Kent, ME and nieces Zoey Dumont and Brenna Jandreau.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the Mass at St. Louis Catholic Church, 26 E Main St, Fort Kent, ME on Friday, May 26 at 10:00am.  Burial will take place at St Louis Cemetery, 139 E Main St, Fort Kent, ME. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carissa's memory can be made to, St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN  38105-9959. The family of Carissa ask for prayers at this time as she begins her new journey of peace. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
