Obituary
Ashland--- Carlton L. Oakes, 61, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 30, 2018. He was born April 2, 1957 in Presque Isle, a son of the late Warren and Catherine (Curtis) Oakes.
Carlton was a graduate of Ashland High School, where he excelled at soccer. He worked for former J. Paul Levesque Lumber for a short period. Carlton enjoyed fishing and his time spent in the woods surrounded by nature, where he made many memories with his family and friends, especially during his earlier years.
He is survived by: three siblings, Charlotte Oakes, Warren "Buz" Oakes and his wife Karen, and Peter Oakes, all of Ashland; a sister-in-law Karen Iovine Oakes of Limerick; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Carlton was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Neil and Gerald Oakes.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Ashland Municipal Cemetery, with Pastor Bill Harris of Advent Christian Church officiating.Services
