St. Agatha--Carmen M. Marquis, 79, of St. Agatha, Maine, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 5, 2025, at a healthcare facility in Fort Kent, Maine.

Carmen was born on August 2, 1945, in Sinclair, Maine. She was a lifelong resident of the St. John Valley, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. Her impact on the community will be felt for years to come.

Carmen dedicated much of her career as an Ed Tech at Patrick Theriault School in Sinclair. She was deeply respected by colleagues and beloved by generations of students for her patience, care, and encouragement. She found great joy in helping children learn and grow.

A woman of deep faith, Carmen was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Valley Church in St. Agatha. Her commitment to her church and her community was a guiding light in her life.

Above all, Carmen cherished spending time with her family. She was known for giving the very best hugs, and her smile could brighten any room. Her gentle spirit, joyful presence, and unconditional love will be missed beyond words. Though she has left this world, her kindness and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. We can take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her beloved son Mark in Heaven, watching over us always.

She is survived by her two sons Danny (Lucie) Dumond of Baker Lake, New Brunswick, Canada and Philip (Terry) Dumond of Bangor, Maine.

She is survived by her four sisters Dorothy (Elbridge) Fortin of Fort Kent, Gertrude Daigle of Frenchville, Maine, Joan Beaulieu of Van Buren, Maine and Susan (Dave) of Caribou, Maine.

She is survived by her four brothers, Nelson (Sharon) Marquis of Presque Isle, Maine. Rossaire (Susan) Marquis of Caribou, Maine. Gilford Marquis of Caribou and Rino (Misty) of Sinclair.

Carmen is also survived by her three grandchildren Seth Dumond of Bangor Maine, Morgan and Sydney Dumond of St. Agatha and two great-grand children Emmett and Luke Dumond of Bangor.

Besides her parents Louis Marquis and Cecile Ouellette. Carmen was predeceased by her beloved son Mark.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, June 23, 2025 at the St. Agatha Church. There will be no visiting hours on Monday before the Mass. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
