Carol A. Taggett

St. Francis--- Carol A. Taggett, 87, passed peacefully Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility, with his beloved wife at his side. He was born January 8, 1939, in St. Francis, a son of the late Frank and Mathilda “Tillie” (Michaud) Taggett.

Carol last worked for Dish for several years overseeing installations and servicing equipment. Previously he worked in the woods operating a chainsaw for many years scoping out special cuts and spent several years working with his father. Carol also worked in Connecticut for several years. Carol was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Assembly, and was a parishioner of St. Charles Church. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and embraced using the computer and internet or simply pestering the cat, Sammee.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Angy (Jandreau) Taggett; seven godchildren, Patty, Andy, Kelly, Debbie, Madison, Scott, and Brendan; six siblings, Albertine Martin, Janita Jandreau, Sheldon Taggett, Dale Taggett, Annabelle Bourgoin, and Lynn West; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Carol was predeceased by six siblings, Guinda Michaud, Monica Berube, Ronald Taggett, Pauline Ouellette, Clyde Taggett, and Martin Taggett.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
