Carrie M. Dechaine, 35, surrounded by her loving family, passed away at her home on December 4, 2010, after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was born July 31, 1975, in Fort Kent, Maine, the daughter of Jean Paul Michaud and Joan Carrier. After high school, Carrie went to St. Petersburg Junior College in Florida for respiratory therapy. She then worked at the Houlton Regional Hospital, EMMC, NMMC, High View Manor as a CMA, and substituted at the Madawaska schools. Carrie always looked at life with a positive attitude, had a sense of adventure, and had an exceptional heart of gold. She was one huggy angel! She helped anyone and gave much of herself. Her laughter and smile were contagious, as was the twinkle in her eyes that expressed it all. Her family was a priority 100% of the time. Family game playing nights, along with projects with her sons was an ongoing and fun time ritual. She also loved painting canvases, playing cards, the beach, traveling, farming on facebook, playing mini-golf & Wii, watching movies. She had a collection of unicorns, dolphins, snow globes, Mickey, and Chip & Dale. No words can express the special woman that she was! We will miss her forever! She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael V. Dechaine, and her two sons, Eddie & Austin of Madawaska; her Dad, Jean Paul Michaud & her Mom, Joan Carrier, both of Madawaska; a brother, Mathew and his wife, Tracy, of Jay; a sister-in-law Jennifer and her husband, Kevin Goodrich, of Waterville; two nieces, Mackenzie & Makayla and a nephew, Lucas. Also caring parent-in-laws, Butch and Micheline Dechaine, of Madawaska. Uncles and Aunts Robert Carrier of California; Richard & Joanne of Fort Kent; Richard & Theresa, James & Lillian of Mass.; Bernard of N.H.; and Lorraine of Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Tuesday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Monday and from 8am until time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carrie's memory may be made to the Edgar J.
