Van Buren & Grand Isle--- Carroll L. Cyr, 72, died Friday, July 7, 2017 at a Bangor hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 16, 1945 in Grand Isle, a son of the late Louis and Aline (Levesque) Cyr.
Carroll worked as an auto body technician and manager for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Assembly, Van Buren, and a parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church. He had many joys in his life, including his love of German Shepherd dogs, which he had numerous ones throughout his life, and a deep appreciation of John Deere tractors.
He is survived by: his wife of 50 years, Priscille (Theriault) Cyr of Van Buren; two daughters, Tina Cyr of Hebron, CT and Donna Donahue of Glastonbury, CT; a brother, Herman Cyr and his wife Rachel of Grand Isle; a grandson, Jake Ryan Donahue; an "adopted" daughter, Kristin Libby; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a half-sister, Nancy Chasse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Gerard-Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Grand Isle. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday morning 9-9:45 AM at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
