Obituary

Carroll Thibodeau, born on December 23, 1949, passed away on October 19, 2026.

“

He looked forward to eating breakfast with his crew, moments that surely brought laughter, friendship, and routine to his days.

Carroll will be remembered as a hardworking man whose life was shaped by dedication to his work, the simple pleasures he loved, and the deep bond he shared with his family. Over the years, he worked as a carpenter, a truck driver, and an auto body mechanic at Valley Auto and the town garage for the Town of Fort Kent. He brought steady hands and commitment to each role, building a life marked by effort, skill, and pride in honest work.

He enjoyed the things that brought both freedom and companionship: long rides, camping, four wheeling, and riding his motorcycle with his buddy Allen Michaud. He also looked forward to eating breakfast with his crew, moments that surely brought laughter, friendship, and routine to his days. Above all, Carroll loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were always especially dear to him. He also cherished his dog Tucker and his cat Tommy.

Carroll leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward. He is survived by his daughters, Carroll Ann Oakes and Theresa Sewall, and by Theresa’s husband, William Sewall. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Trey Paradis; Christian Gray and Nate Gray; Joseph Oakes and Mariah Oakes; Tylor Paradis; Amanda Oakes and David Severe; Josiah Oakes; and Alissa Oakes. His great-grandchildren brought him great joy, and he is also survived by Taylor “Tot” Sewall, Kendyl, Ella and Cody Loring, Donovan, Gavin, Gabby, William Severe, and Theo Oakes. Each of them was part of the circle of love that meant so much to him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christina “Tina” Thibodeau; his son, Joseph; his father, Elmer Thibodeau; his mother, Leola Thibodeau; his brothers, Arnold and William; and his sister, Barbara Dubois.

“

Above all, Carroll loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were always especially dear to him.

Those who knew Carroll will remember a man who valued family, friendship, hard work, and the open road and his going to breakfast with his breakfast crew. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and remain a lasting blessing in their hearts.

In keeping Carroll's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
