Obituary

Fort Kent—Cecile (Deschaine) Paradis, 83, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born on November 3, 1937, daughter of the late Emile H. and Edwina (LeBlanc) Deschaine. Cecile worked at Paradis Shop N' Save for many years, starting at the young age of 14 years old. She started in the produce department and stayed there for over 50 years. Cecile is survived by her loving husband of nearly 51 years, Royden Paradis who will miss her dearly. Two brothers, Reno Deschaine and his wife Ann of Oakland, Nelson Deschaine and his wife Kathy of Massachusetts; Two sisters, Florence Pelletier and her husband Clarence of St. Agatha, Doris Staples of Fort Kent; Two brother in-laws, Richard Bourgoin, and Donald Libby; along with many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Cecile is predeceased by one brother, Reginald Deschaine (Carol); Three sisters, Jeannette Bourgoin, Bernadette Libby, Leonette Gendreau (Roland); One brother in-law, Russell Staples. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 20, 2021, 10am at St. Louis church. Family and friends may offer their condolences from 8:30-9:45am the morning of the service at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home. I lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ceciles honor to, St. John Vianney Parish, 26 E. Main St. Fort Kent, ME 04743; and/or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
