Madawaska---Cecile Soucy, 71, passed away on December 20, 2014 after a 15 month battle with cancer. She was born on December 12, 1943 to Louis and Helen (Roy) Cyr. She grew up in St. Basile, New Brunswick where she attended local schools. She married Robert Soucy on July 29, 1961. Early in their marriage, they moved to Caribou where they raised their family. Cecile loved to knit, play cards (especially when she won), and spend time with her family. She is survived by Robert, her loving husband of 53 years, her children, Louise and her husband Jim Geary of Southwest Harbor, Carol and her husband Kent McKay of Presque-Isle, Patty and her husband Greg Jensen of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Bobby Soucy and his wife Sarah of Portland, and Ryan Soucy and his wife Aimee of South Windsor, Connecticut; her grandchildren Maeve and Teddy Geary of Southwest Harbor, Erika and Colin McKay of Presque-Isle, Hunter Jensen of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and Kyra and Brendan Soucy of South Windsor, Connecticut. She was looking forward to the birth of her eight grandchild from Bobby and Sarah, due in April 2015. She is also survived by her sisters, Lorraine Thibodeau, Dora Couturier, Adrienne Parent, Gilberte Sirois, Anne Bosse; her brothers, Conrad Cyr, Jacques Cyr, Gerard Cyr, and Francois Cyr; her husband's family; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Anthem Cyr, Donald Cyr, and Robert Cyr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on December 27, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may offer their condolences at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Friday and from 9am until 9:45am on Saturday before the service.
