IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cecilia "Papoose"
Dubois
August 28, 1942 – November 9, 2023
St. Agatha/Fort Kent---Cecilia "Papoose" Dubois peacefully passed away on November 9, 2023, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born in Fort Kent on August 28, 1942, daughter of the late Emile and Estelle (Bourgoin) Hebert. Cecilia's legacy is a testament to her boundless compassion, kindness, and unconditional love for all. For over five decades, Cecilia was a pillar of her community as a proud daycare owner, where she nurtured and cared for countless children, leaving an enduring legacy of warmth and kindness in the hearts of each child and family. In addition to caring for her community, Cecilia found joy in her family, raising three children; Brian, Clark, and Karen, as well as several foster children, including Ronald Hebert. She was a loving wife to Elmer "Chou" Dubois for fifty-nine years, cherishing moments like the day she got her moose. Cecilia loved dancing, especially line dancing, but also lit up the dance floor with a spirited polka, twirling alongside her son, Clark. She had a deep passion for camping and was a founding member of Loons Echo Campground, where she spent twenty-one wonderful years. She loved playing Charlemagne card games with friends from both sides of the border and sipping her caffeine-free diet coke. Cecilia is reunited with her beloved husband Elmer "Chou" Dubois; and her daughter, Karen Whitney; her siblings, Richard, Roland, Clarence, Llewelyn, Paul, Lillian Ouellette, Lorette LaBrie. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her two sons, Clark Dubois and his wife Vicky of St. Agatha, and Brian Dubois and his wife Lisa of Madawaska; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three siblings, Pat and May of Fort Kent, Joan Boucher of Connecticut, Rose Plourde and her husband Edward of Fort Kent; many nieces and nephews. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched with her love and care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Monday, November 13, 2023, at St. Louis Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
