St. David --- Charlene Gervais, 83, passed away on May 21, 2023, at an Orono healthcare facility. She was born May 7, 1940 in Grand Isle, Maine, a daughter of the late Patrick and Artheline (Michaud) Doucette.

For many years she owned and operated Gervais Store with her husband. She enjoyed spending time with her family and tending to her vegetable garden and was devoted to praying her daily rosary.

She is survived by her daughters Debra Gervais and Donna Gyorda, son-in-law Andrew Gyorda, grandchildren Joseph and Kristen Gyorda, sister Lillian Rioux (Maurice), and several nieces and a nephew.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 49 years, Joel Gervais in 2013, and one brother Gerard Doucette

The family would like to thank the many health care workers who cared for her during her final months.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, May 26, 2023 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, St. Agatha. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday from 6 – 8:00 PM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 – 10th Ave., Madawaska. Burial will be in St. Agatha Lower Cemetery.
