Ashland--- Charles A. True, 94, passed away peacefully November 27, 2021, at Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle. He was born April 16, 1927 in Masardis, a son of the late Charles and Eldora (Ambrose) True.

Charlie enlisted in the US Army during World War II. Following his Honorable Discharge in 1947 as a Sergeant, he went to work for the Boiler Makers Union, and he worked in various shipyards before his retirement. He was a member of the VFW, Ashland, and the American Legion, Masardis. Charlie enjoyed cooking, much to the delight of his wife and friends, and he certainly liked to travel to places near and far.

He is survived by: his very dear friend, Theresa Carney and her family of Ashland; a daughter Charlene Smith and her husband Burt of Florida; step-daughter, Gloria Caron and her husband Gene of Ashland; and several grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (Stevens) True in 2014.

Per Charlie's wishes, there were no funeral services. Burial will be with his late wife, Barbara, in Masardis Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St./PO Box 39, Ashland.
