Fort Kent--- Clarence "Noir" Blier, 92, peacefully entered into rest July 14, 2024, at a Madawaska healthcare facility, after a short illness. He was born September 30, 1931, in Fort Kent, the fifth of nine children born to the late Albert and Mabel (Bourgoin) Blier.

Noir worked for the Fort Kent Highway Department for 39 years before he retired as the Department Head in 1993. He enjoyed tinkering around with engines and rebuilt several tractors over the years. He was a devoted family man and he and his wife raised five sons.

His is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Phelda (Plourde) Blier of Fort Kent; three sons, Allen Blier and his wife Arlene of Fort Kent, Michael Blier of Grapevine, TX, and Gary Blier and his wife Sandra of Blaine, WA; six grandchildren, Shelly Deprey of Fort Kent, Kayla Cross of WA, Elizabeth Blier of MA, Cody Blier of WA, Nathan Blier of TX & Jerod Blier of TX who miss him greatly; four great grandchildren, Sawyer Deprey, Colton Stewart, Maia Stewart and Paxton Blier, all of WA; three siblings, Gertrude Boucher of Madawaska, Alberta Boucher of CT and Garland Blier of Fort Kent; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Noir was predeceased by two sons, Bruce Blier in 1969 and Joel Blier in 1998, and siblings, Rene Blier, Eddie Blier, Sadie Boucher, Mamie Ouellette and Emile Blier

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday evening 6-8:00 PM and Tuesday morning 8:30-9:30 AM at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
